 2011 Hommages - PM

A long time interest in Piet Mondrian led to a small series of `hommages`. What intrigues me in the work of Mondrian and Van Doesburg is the use of geometric components which at first sight seem to be ordered in an objective`, mathematical way, but in fact is totally intuitive. Intuition versus calculation is the theme of my series `Mondrian revisited`and `TVD`;
In the `hommages` I have used the colours of some of Mondrian`s cubistic paintings in my structures to combine his sensitivity with the objectivity of these structures.
